You can’t buy watches like this on the high street and you have to narrow down your hunt to a few manufacturers. But watches like this do exist.

I’ve collected watches for decades and retailed them for several years too. When it comes to dive watches, I’ve been fascinated by the affordable end of the market.

I want to show you the watch that I believe is the best value for money if you’re shopping on a really tight budget.

The Best Value for Money Divers Watch

This Invicta Pro Diver is a beast.

It has a large and unusual asymmetrical case that comes in at 47mm. Probably bigger than you’re used to, but ideal if you need to be able to read the watch in tough environments.

There are three main selling points for this watch.

• It has a Seiko Automatic movement.
• 200M Water Water Resistance
• Costs less than a hundred bucks

There’s a lot of watch here for the money. Additionally, it has features that you’d expect from a quality dive watch. The glass is a sapphire crystal and it has a durable 24mm stainless steel bracelet.

This is a tough watch that is built to be durable. The case is thick and built to withstand wear and tear and Seiko’s movement is renowned as a workhorse.

If you’re not already familiar with Invicta Watches, here are the basics.

Invicta is Latin for invincible.

They are an American company with a large range of both quartz and mechanical watches. They’re usually powered by Japanese movements, although on occasion, they’ll use Swiss made.

The Pro Diver collection is at the core of their range, but they’re also well known for their colourful and unconventional models. They do a number of fun collaborations too.

Although the company is now American owned, Invicta can trace its roots to Switzerland during the late 1880s. Its corporate headquarters are in Switzerland along with its customer service centre. Its current president, who is a third-generation watchmaker, is also Swiss.

As a rule, their dive watches tend to have decent water resistance, rotating bezels, screw-down crowns and the like. The brand is renowned for high spec watches at an affordable price.

If you’re in the market for a very affordable automatic divers watch, start with the Invicta Pro Diver. It’s chunky, well-made and was designed to be submerged.
